This book is a modern retelling of Jane Austen's timeless Novel: "Pride and Prejudice".
Originally a web series, this book is written as Lizzie's diary, that she keeps while the events of "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries" take place. When young, handsome med-student Bing Lee moves to their town, Lizzie's mother wishes nothing more, than for one of her daughters to marry him. Bing brings along his sister Caroline and his best friend William Darcy and while Lizzie's big sister Jane falls in love with Bing, Lizzie learns to hate the snobbish, prideful Darcy. Soon events grow out of control for more than one of the Bennet sisters.
I read pride and prejudice when I first came across "the Lizzie Bennet Diaries" and fell in love with the book, as well as the, back then ongoing series. Recently I rewatched them and now I finished the book this post is about.
I loved reading this book because it showed a more in depth view on Lizzies feelings. While watching the series I often wondered why one would put their whole life on display on the internet and thought that unrealistic, but after reading the book, I found Lizzie wondering the same.
There are a few extra scenes as well, which I enjoyed and reading felt like an extra cookie or something... a special. I can only recommend reading it, even if you haven't watched the series.
The picture shows the whole cast of the series and therefore most of the characters from the book (there are characters though, that were only ever talked about in the series...) There are good and bad reviews on Amazon, I have nothing bad to say but if you want to know other people's opinions, click on the link in the profile (It leads to Amazon...)
